National Breast Cancer Icon Died On Saturday

A woman who inspired the annual “Pink Out” during Oak Days at Churchill Downs has died.
A woman who inspired the annual “Pink Out” during Oak Days at Churchill Downs has died.

After a long fight with breast cancer, Patricia Amburgey has died. Amburgey fought with the disease for five years and was an inspiration for others battling the disease.

She died on Saturday at 42-years-old.
A service honoring the her life will be held Wednesday at 1pm at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church 6500 Bernadette Ave.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 11am-8pm and Wednesday 10am-12:30pm at Evergreen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mercy Academy Tricia Amburgey Scholarship Fund.
