The NBA calendar, officially flipping to summer today. The Association opening summer league action and a couple former cats - pouncing on the opportunity.

Houston Rockets blasting off with the signing of free agent big man Dwight Howard. Terrence Jones one of the bigs houston plans to partner next to him.

Sixers, couldn't keep up with Jones today. 24 points and nine boards in the Rockets 88-80 win over Philly.

Daniel Orton, a former backup of Howard's in Orlando, making noise with the Thunder in OKC's opener against the Pacers.

Orton - active and aggressive. Showing his range - slamming a ball home and stepping out of the paint for the jumper. Finishes with 15 points.
