Motorcycles Roll Through Lexington For Fundraiser

American Legion riders stopped in Lexington Saturday for a fundraiser benefiting a scholarship fund.
Another fundraising effort made a lunch stop in Lexington to benefit a scholarship fund Saturday.

The American Legions Legacy Scholarship Fun Run brought around 400 motorcycles and 500 riders into town. They started in Indianapolis with sights set on Charlotte. The goal: to raise at least $500,000 for the Legacy Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship is available to any child or dependent of a veteran killed while defending our country since 9/11.

"We're over 450 bikes strong on this four day jaunt has raised 4.2 million dollars and we're already at a quarter million on this run and hopefully getting close to three quarters of a million by the time we get to Charlotte," said Dan Dellinger, National Commander of the American Legion.

The group got to Man O' War Harley just after noon Saturday and left for their next destination around two.
