Morehead State University Student Missing

Police say Daniel Hiser, 20, has been missing since Wednesday night.
Update: Morehead State Police say they've temporarily down graded the search for Daniel T. Hiser and are reassessing where to search for the 20-year-old missing Morehead State student.

Originally law enforcement believed Hiser drove his car east of towards Elliotville.

A search through Elliot and Carter Counties came up empty.

Hisers parents have also come down from their home in Milledgeville,OH and are staying in Morehead.

Morehead State University Police Department began looking for Hiser early Thursday.

Police say the last contact with Hiser, was Wednesday. They add that the last anyone's heard from him was a text message to a friend from Hiser around 9:30PM that night.

According to officials, Hiser's vehicle was involved in an accident on Christy Creek going toward Elliotville. The vehicle hit a brick building and left the scene of the accident. The damage was found at 5:30AM Thursday by the owner of the property along with the bumper and license plate registered to Hiser.

He was last seen on campus Wednesday at around 1PM.

A Code Red Alert for Hiser was sent out to residents in the Christy Creek/Elliottville area of Rowan County.

Hiser is 6’3” and 240 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. The vehicle has Ohio tags and is described as a gold, 2000 Ford Expedition with a missing bumper and possible damage to the passenger side.
