More Than $100,000 In Cash Found In Car

The Kentucky State Police Criminal Interdiction Team stopped a silver Chevrolet Malibu for speeding on I-75 at the 7 mile marker southbound in Whitley County.

Police say during the the traffic stop, officers suspected that unlawful activity was occurring and received consent to search the vehicle.

Officers found $143,755 dollars hidden inside the drivers luggage. The driver was alone in the car, and received charges from KSP for the traffic violation only.

The Drug Enforcement Agency was then contacted to assist in the investigation, and the investigation was turned over to them. The cash was seized by the DEA.
