There's continued reaction to the news from earlier this week that the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond might lay off 300 people.

The cuts could happen because of a reduced demand for ammunition as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan wind down.

This would not affect the part of the Depot that handles chemical weapons.

Congressman Ben Chandler says he will fight to stop the layoffs.

He plans a meeting next week involving local leaders and the pentagon.
