U. S. Senator Mitch McConnell was in Winchester today to speak to a group of Republicans at the Elks Club in Clark County.

He was criticizing the liberal superpac Progress Kentucky and addressing some controversial remarks made on Twitter.

ABC 36 caught up with McConnell to talk about the sequester and he said he feels hopeful about the next legislative moves in Washington.

When we asked if he thought Ashley Judd could be a serious contender for his Senate seat he said "we'll find out who the opponent is next year."
