Officials in Mercer County are looking for a man who was allegedly spotted by a homeowner while trying to break into the person's residence.

They said they're looking for Brent Stewart, of Harrodsburg, following the burglary attempt on Mackville Road, close to Johnson Road.

According to deputies, Stewart ran away from the home before officers got there. They believe he was picked up by a late 90s model Jeep, similar to the one in the provided photo. The Jeep they're searching for is blue with tinted windows.

Deputies said aside from the attempted burglary, they also want to speak with him about several other active burglary cases.

He is also wanted by the Department of Probation for reportedly violating his conditions of release.

The Sheriff's Office urges anyone with any information as to where Stewart may be or who else may be with him in the Jeep to call them at (859) 734-4221 or (859) 734-3311.
