KY Medical Community Remembers Doctor & Wife Killed In Plane Crash

The Central Kentucky medical community is mourning the lost of a respected Georgetown doctor and his wife.
The Central Kentucky medical community is mourning the lost of a respected Georgetown doctor and his wife.

Investigators say Doctor Narayan Venguswamy and his wife Jay Venguswamy were in their private plane Wednesday when it crashed in a parking lot outside Chicago.

The couple was flying from the Georgetown-Scott County Airport to Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Investigators say Jay Venguswamy, who was a passenger in the plane, died at the scene.

Doctor Narayan Venguswamy was piloting the plane.

Investigators say he died Thursday morning in the burn unit at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

A witness to the crash reported that Dr. Venguswamy was badly burned, but kept trying to go back for his wife.

The well-known surgeon worked at the Georgetown Community Hospital for 27 years.

His wife worked in his office at the hospital.
