After his win over primary opponent Matt Bevin, Senator Mitch McConnell kicked off his victory speech by thanking Bevin, commenting that Bevin has made him a better candidate.
Then, McConnell went into attack mode against his new opponent, Alison Ludergan Grimes.
McConnell began by pitching his own experience and leadership position and said that Grimes was a "partisan's partisan."
He also tried to link her to President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, saying that voting for her would be like voting for them.
During his speech, McConnell asked Bevin's supporters to throw their support behind him.
However, Bevin did not give an outright endorsement of Senator McConnell.
