Senator Mitch Mcconnell of Kentucky -- the Republican leader of the U.S. Senate -- reacted Tuesday night to President Obama's State of the Union address.

McConnell said the president is just offering more of the same policies he's pushed the last three years.

"And the American people have the right to ask at this point -- how did that work out?" McConnell said from Washington, D.C. "We now have eight and a half percent unemployment, massive debt the size of our economy. People want to go in a different direction and the president is regrettably asking us to do more of the same."
