A tweet caused both laughs and concern Tuesday in Lexington.

Marlon Wayans and his brother Shawn are performing at 'Comedy Off Broadway' this week.

But Marlon's tweet Monday night might be taking center stage in the city.

Wayans took to social media tweeting his thoughts about Lexington.

The tweet said, "I love that there's a Whole Foods right next to my hotel in bum (expleitive) Lexington Kentucky. This way I can get organic gluten free racism anytime."

The reaction from Lexington residents was mixed.

There was laughter and agreement, or disgust and argument.

Some in the community were concerned the comments could unfairly give Lexington a bad reputation.

But Wayans' fans who were buying tickets for Tuesday's show say that's how the comedian gets a laugh.

The Wayans have not commented to ABC 36 about the tweet.
