A Louisville lawmaker is introducing legislation that could legalize medical marijuana.

Senator Perry Clark, D-Louisville, will talk about the proposal, which he's calling the "Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act", at a press conference Thursday afternoon.

It's in honor of late Lexington attorney, Gatewood Galbraith, who was the state's leading proponent of marijuana legalization.

Galbraith also advocated for lifting federal restrictions that prevent Kentucky farmers from growing industrial hemp.
