Man Sentenced To Prison For Making Death Threat To Governor Beshear

Federal prosecutors said Thomas Hargreaves, 45, of Ohio, was sentenced to 21-months in prison for threatening in an email to kill Governor Beshear.
An Ohio man, who admitted he threatened to kill Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, was sentenced to 21-months in federal prison.

According to court documents, Thomas Hargreaves, 45, emailed Beshear in August of 2011 and threatened to kill him.

Prosecutors said in June 2011, Hargreaves demanded in an email that the Governor restore his Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

In a response, the Secretary of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet noted, among other things, that because Hargreaves was an Ohio resident he was not eligible for a CDL in Kentucky.

Prosecutors said less than a month later, Hargreaves emailed the death threat.
