It's a life sentence for a Madison County man who admits he killed his mother and his girlfriend.

John Payne was supposed to go on trial in April.

Instead he pleaded guilty last month to killing his mother, Cornelia Mullins and his girlfriend, Meredith King, in Madison County in 2010.

A judge Wednesday sentenced Payne to life with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
