Man Missing At Laurel Lake

The sheriff's department says Clarence Holmes, 32, was driving a pontoon boat when he disappeared during a storm.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Department is conducting a missing person investigation after receiving a report from Holly Bay at Laurel Lake that a man’s unoccupied pontoon boat had been found.

The boat was found Thursday evening off Marshes Branch, 13 miles west of London, near a small island on Laurel Lake.

The sheriff's department says Clarence Holmes 32, of Berea was driving his pontoon around the lake trying to help people moor their houseboats before an approaching storm hit.

The missing man’s personal belongings were found on his pontoon boat.

Agencies involved in the search include the U.S. Forest Service Officer and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife.
