A Louisville man is in critical condition tonight at UK Hospital after being run over by a car on Sunday in Lexington.
Police say 25-year old Christopher Mayfield was walking with a friend to a Speedway Gas Station off Broadway,  when he came across a couple arguing in the parking lot.
Investigators say Mayfield tried to break up the argument, but that's when the couple turned on Mayfield.
Police say the woman in the argument, Shemecko Howard, got into her car and ran down Mayfield in a parking lot across the street from the station.
On Monday Mayfield's family spoke out asking for the community to help in covering the medical expenses.
Howard has been taken into custody.
