Man Dies In Construction Fall At Airport In Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Coroner's Office said Carl Williams, 73, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday morning after falling off a roof while working on an addition to a building at the county's airport.
A man died Wednesday morning after falling off a roof while doing construction work at the airport in Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County Coroner's Office said Carl Williams, 73, of Mount Vernon, apparently lost his balance or slipped on the roof, slid off and fell to the ground.

Another man on the roof also fell and landed on Williams, according to investigators.

Williams was pronounced dead at an area hospital.  The other man was injured, but survived.

Investigators are trying to determine if the wind played a role at all since it was breezy Wednesday with occasional gusts.

Williams' body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
