Man Charged With Stabbing Driver During Fight in Pickup Truck

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said Michael Alsip, 50, of Corbin, stabbed the driver of a pickup truck he was a passenger in during a fight early Sunday morning.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said Michael Alsip, 50, of Corbin, stabbed Randal Jenkins in the neck during a fight in a pickup truck around 4:50 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators said it happened along KY 312, 10 miles south of London.

Investigators said Jenkins was driving the pickup when Alsip cut his neck.

Investigators said Alsip jumped out of the truck and ran into the nearby woods, but came back to the scene once Sheriff's Deputies arrived.

Alsip was taken to jail, Jenkins was taken to an area hospital to be treated for his wound.

The Sheriff's Office said Alsip was charged with Assault 1st Degree.

Investigators did not say what the two men were reportedly arguing about.

The case is still under investigation.
