A Lexington man is in jail after police said he stabbed a dog to death because he was mad at his mother.
It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Huntsville Drive.
Police said, Kimanita Hale, 21, took a six-inch butcher knife and repeatedly stabbed the family dog, causing it to die.
Police said when officials arrived, Hale held the knife to his own throat to keep officers at bay.
Police said even after being tased, Hale resisted officers trying to take him into custody.
He is charged with torture of a dog and resisting arrest.
