Police say a Richmond man assaulted a police officer during a domestic disturbance call.

Officers were called December 29th to a home on Chris Drive.

They say a man at the home told police his son was drunk and needed to be removed from the house.

As they spoke with the man, investigators say another son repeatedly tried to push past an officer in a doorway.

Police say the officer struggled with the son before arresting him.

23-year-old Isaiah Kavanaugh was taken to the Madison County Jail and charged with third degree assault.
