The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says it made an arrest in the case of a man allegedly posing as a deputy.

Deputies say a tip Thursday led them to Robert C. Trabish Jr.

Investigators say he was caught Sunday night shoplifting in a store outside of London.

According to the Sheriff's Office, when employees confronted Trabish he showed them a badge and claimed to be a deputy.

Deputies arrested Trabish at his house.

His girlfriend, Marie M. Bell Richardson, was also arrested after investigators say she tried to hide the fake badge from deputies.
