Man Arrested After Police Chase

Police charged Ray E. Crawford, 33, for resisting arrest and fleeing.
Police charged Ray E. Crawford, 33, of Cunningham on charges of resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police.

Investigators say Crawford attempted to avoid arrest on two outstanding warrants.

Just after 6:30 p.m. Monday, officers say they made contact with Crawford in the parking lot of the D & G Service Station on East Main and Irvine Street in Richmond, after receiving a report that there were two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  As officers were attempting to detain him to confirm his identity, police say Crawford broke free and fled on foot to the backyard of 103 Chris Drive where officers in pursuit were able to catch and subdue him.

Police say that there were two outstanding arrest warrants for Crawford, one from McCracken Circuit Court charging him for failure to appear for sentencing on a flagrant non-support conviction, and one from Graves District Court for failure to appear on contempt charges.
