A man wanted for allegedly selling drugs in Danville around a month ago has been caught in Nicholasville, according to Boyle County deputies.

They tell us 51-year-old John Essex was arrested on Monday night by U.S. Marshals at an unnamed motel.

In July, Boyle County officials reported seeing Essex selling drugs. They said they later tried to pull him over, but he wouldn't stop.

According to deputies, a chase ensued, which lasted for ten minutes before Essex crashed his car.

They said he then ran off and had not been located until Monday night's arrest.

Essex's charges include two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of trafficking marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and providing officers with a false name or address.

He is now lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
