A Jellico, Tennessee man is now in the Whitley County Detention Center after he allegedly attacked another man with a saw.

On Sunday, officers received word about an assault at a gas station close to the Kentucky-Tennessee border.

That's where investigators said they found the victim, who claimed someone had used a saw to strike him in the neck.

According to deputies, Jody Currier, 37, later turned himself in at the Whitley County Sheriff's Department.

He was charged with first-degree assault, but the Sheriff's Office said more charges are possible.

At last report, the victim was listed in stable condition at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
