A man is in jail after he was accused of sexually assaulting a local college student in October.

Christian Warta, 22, is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday. He was arrested Thursday and charged with sodomy.

According to police, the female victim said she was a friend of Warta’s and he picked her up at her dorm on October 18 to hang out.

Police said the alleged victim drank two beers that Warta gave her, and then began to feel sick.

Court documents state that Warta took the victim to a home, where she fell asleep. The woman told police she later awoke with Warta on top of her, sexually assaulting her.

Throughout the assault, the alleged victim stated that Warta choked her and held a pillow over her head when she started to scream.

She later went to the emergency room for a sexual assault exam.

Police said that the alleged victim also sent a text message to Warta afterward, asking why he had done this to her. Court documents show that Warta’s response was, “I don’t know.”
