Man Accused Of Robbing Lexington Business And Shooting At Employees

Lexington Police released surveillance photos of a man accused of robbing the Super Mercado on Woodhill Drive Thursday night and shooting at employees. No one was injured.
Lexington Police released surveillance photos Thursday night of an armed robbery suspect who reportedly fired shots at employees before leaving the scene.

Investigators said a man with a gun walked into the Super Mercado on Woodhill Drive around 7:30 p.m.

Police said the man robbed the business and a customer of cash and left the business.

Investigators said some employees followed the suspect outside and the suspect fired two shots at the workers.  Police said no one was hit.

Investigators said after firing the shots, the man jumped into a Maroon Dodge Caravan and took off.

Police said a woman saw the man get into the vehicle and because he looked suspicious, she called 911 and followed the suspect in the minivan to Liberty Road, but she eventually lost sight of the vehicle.

Police said the woman did not witness the robbery or the shots fired.  They said she reacted to the suspicious nature of the man fleeing in the minivan.

As of this writing, the suspect had not been arrested.
