The Madison County Sheriff's Office said they were attempting to pull a driver over at around 2:15 Wednesday afternoon, when the man hopped out of his car and ran off.

Deputies said he was pulled over on Madison Avenue, but ran to Union City Road. That's where they set up a perimeter.

B. Michael Caudill Middle School and Glenn Marshall Elementary were on lockdown between 20 and 30 minutes as a precautionary measure. They were dismissed at their regular times.

Deputies said they are still looking for the man.

No description has been given.
