Madison County Emergency Management Standing By for Storms

Emergency Management in Madison County is on high alert because of the storms.

It's tracking the weather and power outages as it keeps in touch with first responders throughout the area.

The county has 30,000 alert radios and 85 outdoor sirens in place to warn the community in a weather emergency.

Director of Emergency Management Carl Richards says, "Everyone's doing their pre-planning. The hospitals.....Fire departments have been checking their gear, EMS. Everyone's doing the right thing to be best prepared to protect the citizens."

There are 3 'safe stations' open for people in mobile homes.

Flatwoods Christian Church on College Hill Road in Waco will be open.

Also, mobile home residents can go to First Christian Church' on West Main Street in Richmond.

There's also a third safe station at Church on the Rock on Richmond Road North in Berea.
