Madison Co. Residents Gather For National Prayer Day

For National Prayer Day, people in Madison County gathered together outside of the courthouse for prayer.
The first Thursday in May is National Prayer Day, and millions of people from across the United States came together to pray for the nation regardless of their religion.

People in Madison County gathered outside of the courthouse Thursday afternoon to join in payer. The event coordinator, Carolyn Hayes, said National Prayer Day has become more important over the past few years.

"There's come a time when people are calling things good when they're really bad, and we're just asking God to intervene in our nation," said Hayes.

National Payer Day is an annual event dating back to 1952.
