Here are some facts and figures about the ice storms of 2003 and 2009.

On February 15th and 16th in 2003, Lexington was covered in a 2-inch coating of ice.

It caused $61 million in damage and left 90,000 people without power.

It was the worst ice storm to hit Lexington since the 1800's.

There was another bad storm on February 27th and 28th, 2009.

More than 700,000 people across Kentucky lost power.

There were 30 storm-related deaths across the state.

And 100 of the state's 120 counties declared states of emergency.
