London Man Injured After Motorcycle Slams Into Police Cruiser

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said Joshua Hedrick, 21, of London, was speeding on a motorcycle on the wrong side of the road and slammed into a Deputy's cruiser. Hedrick was airlifted to UK Hospital.
A London man was injured when he slammed his motorcycle into a Sheriff's Deputy's cruiser in Laurel County, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Deputy Larry Parrott was investigating a complaint of four wheelers and motorcycles being driven recklessly up and down Waterworks Road, just outside of London around 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Investigators said as Deputy Parrott started into a curve, he saw a motorcycle coming at him on the wrong side of the road at an extremely excessive speed.

Investigators said Deputy Parrott steered to the right side of the road and stopped, but the motorcycle collided with the left front end of the cruiser, sending the driver onto the road behind the cruiser.

The driver was identified as Joshua Hedrick, 21 of London.

Investigators said he had multiple injuries.  He was airlifted to UK Hospital in Lexington.

His motorcycle was identified as a Kawasaki Ninja.

A third vehicle that was westbound ahead of the cruiser and motorcycle received debris damage.  The driver, Jason Asher of London, was not injured, according to investigators.

Deputy Parrott was not injured.

Investigators said there were three witnesses to the collision and they were all located.

The investigation continues.
