London Man Dies In Accident On Rain Slick Road

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said Dwight Allen, 63, of London, lost control of his car Monday morning on a rain slick KY 192, and collided with an SUV. Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.
A London man died Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident on a rain slick road, about two miles west of London, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Dwight Allen, 63, of London, lost control of his Pontiac Grand Am on a wet KY 192 (West Laurel Road) around 11:00 a.m.

The Sheriff's Office said the driver of a Chevy Trailblazer, who was headed in the opposite direction of Allen, tried to avoid the collision by steering off onto the right shoulder of the eastbound lane, but was still struck.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.

The driver of the SUV, Travis McDaniel, 32, of Corbin, was taken by private vehicle to Saint Joseph Hospital in London with possible injuries, according to investigators.

The investigation into the deadly accident continues.
