Laurel County Deputies said they received a tip about a 25-year-old man who was wanted for theft possibly being at a home on Somerset Road.

They said when they arrived at around 2 on Tuesday afternoon, the man who answered the door said Shawn Asher, the man they were looking for, wasn't there.

Deputies said that's when they heard a loud noise coming from the back of the house and spotted Asher trying to run out the back door and into a wooded area.

One of the deputies reportedly chased Asher, eventually catching up to him after he tried to hide under a mobile home.

Asher was arrested and charged with fleeing and evading police and possession of meth in addition to his original charge of theft.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
