More than a hundred dogs from across Kentucky have come to the Homeward Bound Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in London for a second chance at life.

Many of the dogs that come in are in such bad shape other shelters would put the dogs down if not for the center.

Those working at the center and saving these dogs says they're facing the same dilemmas other animal shelters are facing across the nation, a lack of space and an ever-increasing number of dogs coming in.

They say much of Kentucky's problems are a result of the lax animal abuse laws and the disregard by many to spay or neuter their animals.

Homeward Bound Canine Rescue and Rehab Center is holding an adoption event this weekend at the Petssmart in the Lexington, Hamburg area. The even will run Saturday and Sunday and go from 11am to 6pm.
