Local Homeless Trying to Keep Warm

Hundreds of displaced are cramming local shelters to stay out of the below freezing temperatures.
Hundreds of homeless in Lexington are filling local shelters as temperatures drop below freezing.

Officials with the Catholic Action Center and Community Inn on Winchester Road, say their overnight shelters will be packed the next few nights.

Local homeless say they know how much of the cold they can take and say on nights like Monday and Tuesday, almost all will find a roof over their heads.

The C.A.C. says they can always use more cots, pillows and blankets this time of year along with any other kind of volunteer help they can get from the community.

Local law enforcement say they keep an eye out for those trying to sleep outside and try to get them to shelters but say it's all up to the individuals whether or not they'll go.
