Local Forensic Psychiatrist Discusses Theater Shooting

A criminal mind analyst expects much more information to come out on the background of the suspect in the Colorado theater shooting.
Dr. Robert Granacher, a forensic psychiatrist who lives in Danville, says the most disturbing thing about the midnight shooting at a movie theater in Colorado, is that the suspected gunman, James Holmes, pre-meditated his attack, possibly days in advance.

He says this case is different than other mass shootings in recent years, mostly because of how organized the shooter was, and how stable his life was prior to early Friday morning.

Dr. Granacher does work for the Department of Justice as a criminal minds analyst and says it's unclear yet if something in Holmes's life forced him to snap, or even if this was the first signs of bi-polar.

Dr. Granacher says investigators will look into Holmes's past, all the way to his birth, looking for something that may have started his apparent decline downward. He says if you notice someone close to you becoming socially detached or acting strange to reach out to them in person, and not just through a text or Facebook message, ect.
