Firefighters say lightning is to blame for a fire at a Richmond home.

It happened Thursday afternoon on Hampton Way.

A Battalion Chief tells ABC 36 that lightning struck a vent on top of the house.

Investigators say the people who were inside at the time made it out safely.

They were not able to return home Thursday night.
