'Light It Up Blue' Comes to Lexington

Memorial Hall and Texas Roadhouse on Richmond Rd. lit their buildings blue on Tuesday to raise awareness about autism.
      According to the National Autism Society there are more than 15-hundred children in Kentucky with autism.

     Nationally about one in every 110 children has some form of it.

     On Tuesday some in Lexington were trying to raise global awareness about autism by using the state's favorite color blue.

     Students at UK and at local businesses like Texas Roadhouse lit blue lights in their businesses and even at Memorial Hall to raise awareness about autism.

     Lexington wasn't the only town blue on Tuesday, cities across the globe lit their buildings blue as part of the "Light It Up Blue" event put on by the Autism Speaks Organization.

     In all over 50 thousand people world wide took part in the day.

    Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is also taking part in Light It Up Blue on Wednesday.
