Lexington Woman Collects Blankets For Storm Victims

Melissa Hall said that, with the nor'easter affecting Sandy victims even further, she wanted to collect something to keep them warm: blankets.
A nor'easter, combined with the recent damage accumulated from Sandy, made for cold temperatures and lack of aid to combat them on the east coast.

Lexington resident Melissa Hall said she wants to change that...so she began a blanket drive.

Hall began collecting blankets in the back of her van, and said she and her family plan to drive them to New York City on Friday, Nov. 9th.

"If everybody just picks up a blanket out of their closet to help out somebody who's cold...why wouldn't you?" said Hall.

The donor said she's collecting blankets of all kinds--as of Thursday, she had around 30...but hopes to get to a thousand by Friday afternoon.

If you'd like to donate a blanket for the Hall family to take to NYC, you can go to the Facebook event page for more details.
