Lexington Roads OK after Winter Storm

Friday's storms caused havoc for drivers around Central Kentucky, but crews were busy Friday night making sure roads get back to normal.
Drivers were up against rain, sleet, ice and then snow on Friday. The storm caused slick roads for anyone traveling through Central Kentucky.

Officials in Lexington didn't report any flooding, but areas to the South and Southeast were reporting heavy flooding, even closing roads in some areas due to the heavy flooding.

Lexington Police say they responded to quite a few accidents during the height of the storm, 23 in total. Officials say four of those accidents had injuries.

Officials say Lexington road crews will stay on the streets throughout the weekend, they will be salting and constantly monitoring road conditions.

Public safety officials say they are concerned about overnight freezing temperatures and the possibility of the very wet roads freezing over. They are still reminding people to take it easy out there by slowing down and keeping a little more stopping distance in-between cars.
