A Lexington restaurant is helping people who are hungry fight the cold by giving them free meals.
Caddy’s Grill and Soul Food on Versailles Road said they will be serving soups and sandwiches to anyone who needs food while the temperatures are below freezing.
Co-Owner Leland Hollis said they will choose one meal to give away each day and anyone can stop in for the food. Other items on their menu are still being sold.
Hollis said they plan to use profits from other meals to provide these free meals.
“We're gonna be ok I'm sure with God's blessing,” Hollis said.
The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
