Lexington Police said 80 vehicles have been stolen in the city in the last month and in 30 of those cases, the owner left the keys in the vehicle.

Police call that a case of "creating a crime of opportunity."

Police remind people to take their vehicle keys with them, lock their doors, roll up their windows and keep belongings out of sight.
