Lexington Police To Crackdown On Unlicensed Drivers

Lexington Police are cracking down on people who drive without a license or who drive on a suspended license.

This Thursday, June 28th from 6:00 p.m. through midnight, there will be a Traffic Safety Checkpoint on Liberty Road at Star Shoot Parkway.

In 2011, there were 684-crashes involving unlicensed or suspended drivers that resulted in 276-injuries, according to Lexington Police statistics.

Police said officers will also be looking for impaired drivers during the checkpoint hours.
