Police say a victim became the suspect after shooting Friday in Lexington.

And there are a lot of twists and turns in this one.

Police were called to Cambridge Drive on the west side of town Friday afternoon.

They say they found two men shot...one critically, one in the hand.

According to police, the man shot in the hand told them the shooter was in a nearby building.

Police eventually searched that building and found nothing while both victims were sent to the hospital.

Police tell ABC 36 they eventually concluded the man shot in the hand 'was' the shooter.

Police have arrested 22-year-old Darryl Brown.

He's now charged with assault.

The other man shot is listed in critical condition.

It's not clear yet what led to the shootings.
