Lexington Police: Robbers Posed As Officers

Police said two men impersonated officers and stole money from a residence on West Loudon Avenue Tuesday night.
Lexington police said two men impersonated officers and robbed a man Tuesday night.

Police said the two men, both in their 20s and carrying guns and badges, went to a home at the Imperial Mobile Home Park on West Loudon Avenue just before nine p.m.

The men knocked on the door and told the people living there that they were officers. Police said the fake cops claimed to have a warrant for the arrest of one of the occupants.

As they took the man into custody, police said he gave some money to another person.

Officers said the two cop impersonators took the cash and left.

Victims then called the real police.

As of this writing, there have been no other incidents reported...but police said they always worry when there are people impersonating officers.
