Lexington Police Officer Hurt in Motorcycle Crash

Police say an officer hurt his legs in a motorcycle crash, and a UPS driver provided valuable help.
A Lexington police officer's legs ended up hurt during a motorcycle crash Tuesday night on Newtown Pike.

Police say the officer lost control of the motorcycle and fell around 8:30. The officer had just left Lexington's Christmas parade. Police call the injuries to the officer's legs "serious."

According to police, the driver of a UPS truck saw the crash occur, and stopped his truck on the outbound side of Newtown in a way that blocked cars from hitting the officer. Police praised the driver's actions.

The officer's name has not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
