Lexington Police: Man Confesses To Shooting

Lexington Police said a suspect in an afternoon shooting that sent a man to the hospital, confessed to the crime.

Lexington Police said the suspect in an afternoon shooting confessed to the crime. 

Investigators said shortly after three Thursday afternoon, two men got into an argument in front of Lakeside Manor Apartments on the corner of Centre Parkway and Appian Way.

Police said the argument led to one man shooting the other in the shoulder. 

The suspect was arrested after a brief foot chase.  Investigators said he'll be charged with assault.

The victim was taken to U.K. Hospital with what Police described as non-life threatening injuries. 

The shooting happened not far from the Tates Creek campus that houses the elementary, middle and high school's.  Police said the shooting did not involve any students and that the people on the campus were never in any danger. 

No names in the case have been released.
