Lexington Police Investigate Possible Abduction

A Lexington mother got a surprise wake-up call early Thursday morning when a girl rang her doorbell...and told her she'd been abducted.
Lexington police said they're investigating a possible abduction from early Thursday morning.

Rhonda, who didn't want her face shown on camera, said she called them after a girl showed up at her door in the middle of the night.

Rhonda, a mother herself, lives near Marlboro Park. She said the girl told her she was taken there by a man who'd taken her from her home.

"She said a man was in her room...and he brought her out of the room," said the mom.

Police said they searched the park with K-9 units, but could not find any suspects.

They also said they went to the girl's home and found no signs of forced entry.

Police said after speaking with the girl, they still aren't sure exactly what happened. They do plan to speak to her further.

The girl was uninjured, they said, but taken to the hospital as a precaution.

As for Rhonda, she said she's lived next to the park for nearly twelve years...but nothing like this has ever happened.

Even so, the mother said she hopes others will follow her example.

"Keep your houses open to something like this, because you never know what's going on around you," she said.
