Lexington Police Dog Gets New Bullet Proof Vest

Thanks to a $850 donation from the Bluegrass Corvette Club,  a Lexington Division of Police K-9 unit dog is getting a new, life-saving bullet proof vest.

Lexington Police said the donation was critical for K-9 officer safety because the nine member unit currently has only seven bullet proof vests.

During the check presentation for the new vest, members of the Bluegrass Corvette Club were saddened to hear that one dog would still be without a protective vest.

So, Sonny Bates, owner of Bates Security and Sonitrol, pledged an additional $850 from his company for the purchase of another vest in the future.
